Fastest Way to Travel From Rome to Venice, Italy

Rome and Venice are both beautiful cities located in the Mediterranean nation of Italy, Rome being the glittering capital city and Venice being the northern Italian city known as the "City of Water." If you are on a vacation throughout Italy and want to save time on transportation between both cities, the fastest way to travel between them is to take an airplane.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Step 1

Fly with Alitalia, which has existed since 1946 and is one of Italy's premier airlines (see Resources). It offers flights between Rome and Venice at reasonable prices. The flight is brief, lasting approximately 1 hour and 5 minutes. The flights are nonstop since the cities are so close.

Step 2

Fly between Rome and Venice with Air One. Air One is an Italian airline that was founded in 1983, and is actually a part of the aforementioned Alitalia group (see Resources). Its home base is located in Rome. Similarly to Alitalia, Air One offers fast, nonstop flights between the two cities, and the flight duration is just over 1 hour total.

Step 3

Take a train from Rome to Venice. If flying in airplanes is too costly for you, or you simply are uncomfortable with flying in airplanes, you can take a train between these two cities. If you take a rapid train and don't have to transfer, the travel time is usually just under 4 1/2 hours. Italia Rail is a highly reputable Italian train company, and you can book your reservations at their official website (see Resources). You can also call to purchase your train tickets.
