Travel & Tourism in England

Throughout England you will find a variety of vacation spots. From seaside resorts to country towns and large cities, England offers a trip for anyone.
Seaside Resorts

Since the 18th century people from London have flocked to the seaside to enjoy a few days from the city. Today places like Blackpool and Brighton are some of the most popular tourist destinations in the country.

The Country

Country towns like Yorkshire are full of vacation homes for the posh. These quiet retreats are popular for anyone enjoying to take a peaceful vacation with few distractions. Although these towns do not offer many tourist attractions, large cities are always nearby.

The Cities

Manchester, London and Liverpool are the largest cities who draw the most visitors. Liverpool is popular for football and the Beatles. Manchester is home to the Madchester music scene. However, London is the most popular for its historical significance, shopping and lifestyle.

Day Trips

Day trips are not common for locals, but many tour groups offer them to vacationers. Those staying in London often spring for a guided tour of nearby Bath or Stonehenge to get a different taste of British culture.

Travel

Regardless where you stay in England, the country is small and things are a lot closer than they appear. Locals do not travel more than 20 minutes without bringing an overnight bag, but tourists generally want to make the most of their visit overseas. Car rentals are available with an international drivers license and coach buses reach even the smallest towns. However, rail travel is the cheapest and most convenient.
