Hohe Tauern National Park
This park is one of the last great wilderness areas in all of Europe, and is at the feet of Austria's largest mountains. Its abundant wildlife includes goats, sheep, ibex, chamois, a large variety of birds and deer. There are also several ski and snowboarding slopes, as well as hiking and nature trails.

These wondrous caves were discovered in 1879 and are considered the largest ice caves in the world. They are open for guided tours of ice formations, frozen waterfalls and glaciers. Tours run from May to October.
