The city of Rome boasts some of the most ancient sites in
Europe, such as St. Peter's Dome, the Vatican and the Pantheon. It is also a place to indulge in meals with fine cuisine and good wine, often from Italy's own wine-growing regions, such as Tuscany, Sardinia and Piedmont. If you travel to Rome, visit one of the city's rooftop restaurants, often found in hotels, where you can view the city's famous landscape as well as sample the exquisite food.

Hotel Hassler has won numerous accolades by publications such as "Conde Nast Traveler" and "Travel + Leisure" magazines. On Conde Nast's Gold List of the "World's Best Places to Stay," the Hotel Hassler features a rooftop restaurant called Imàgo. From the restaurant, enjoy panoramic views of Rome and gaze at famous monuments, such as the church of Santa Maria Maggiore, San Giovanni in Laterano, the Quirinale and the Pantheon, among others. The menu features regional and traditional Italian cuisine, such as gnocchi, fusilli pasta in carbonara sauce and ravioli. The restaurant won its first Michelin star rating in 2009.

Rooftop Garden of the Grand Hotel de la Minerve
Open in the warmer summer season, dine at the Rooftop Garden of the five-star Grand Hotel de la Minerve, which has won accolades from "The London Times," "The New York Times" and "USA Today." The hotel's restaurant, La Cesta, offers a menu specializing in fresh fish and pastas. Enjoy traditional Italian cuisine as well as Mediterranean while seeing a sunset or one of the city's landmarks, such as the dome of St. Ivo's church, the Pantheon and the roof terrace of the Quirinale.

Les Etoiles
The rooftop garden of Les Etoiles, part of the Hotel Atlante Star, is open all year, offering views of St. Peter's Square and Church as well as a close look at the detail of St. Peter's Dome. The rooftop restaurant accommodates large crowds of up to 200 guests, making it a choice for parties and receptions. The menu is traditional Italian, but the chef enjoys using seasonal and regional ingredients, such as extra-virgin olive oil produced in the hotel's country estate "Parco dell'Airone," located just outside Rome.
