Rock Music Festivals in Spain

Spain is a well-known tourist destination for several reasons: beautiful weather and beaches, fine cuisine and wine, art, rich historical architecture and, of course, music. Throughout the year, there are many music festivals in Spain, featuring pop, rock, heavy metal, and electronica and techno genres. Knowing when the top festivals take place is key if you want to experience a musical event during your trip to Spain.
Benicassim Festival

The Benicassim Festival takes place in mid-July in Benicassim, between Barcelona and Valencia. It is considered Spain's largest rock, pop and dance festival, with several eclectic local and international acts, most of whom are unknown. Along this Mediterranean coast, you can also lounge on the beach, dine and shop. The festival, sponsored by Heineken, is nine days of free camping, four intense days of live music, a week of musical activities and unlimited socializing. Past acts include Kings of Leon, Franz Ferdinand, Oasis, Lily Allen, the Killers and the Horrors.
