The four-star Villa Gabrisa is a popular villa hotel in Positano, Italy. It is an ancient villa that is less than a 15-minute walk to the
beach, in a historic district. The rooms are clean, comfortable and most provide beautiful views of the Tyrrhenien Sea. There is a bar, a common room, free Internet, heating and air conditioning, safes, private bathrooms with amenities, and a telephone and TV.
Wows and Woes
There are three types of rooms. The least expensive are located in the attic, with private bathrooms, a balcony and decorated in warm bright colors. The deluxe rooms have a large terrace, handcrafted furniture, bathtubs or showers. The suites are the largest, with antique furniture and a terrace. There is a lot of antique furniture and items throughout the hotel, adding to its charm.
On the downside, it can be expensive and difficult to book a reservation.
Insider Tips
It is within walking distance to shopping, restaurants (although there is one on location), boutiques and markets. It is also close to public transportation stops. The front desk can arrange any type of excursion or activity.
Author's Most Memorable Moment
The views from the room balcony are priceless, with each room striving to provide a panoramic picture for guests. The restaurant had delicious food and cocktails, and the staff will bend to your every need.
Bottom Line
The hotel is fancy, comfortable and charming with beautiful rooms, but the prices are high and it needs to be booked far in advance.
