Balhousie Castle Museum
Balhousie Castle Museum is in Perth by the North Inch and is a fascinating and educational place for kids to visit. The museum details the history of the British military in great depth. The museum focuses particularly on the accomplishments and achievements of the Black Watch, which is the oldest highland regiment in Scotland.

Perth Art Gallery and Museum
The Perth Art Gallery and Museum is one of the premier historic structures in the city. There is a medieval Round Tower that is part of the museum, which showcases artworks by J.D. Ferguson, an artist from Scotland. The gallery displays temporary art exhibitions and also depicts local history in great detail. This is a wonderful museum for children to learn about the region's history and also Scottish art.

Fowlis Wester
Fowlis Wester is a small, serene and picturesque village that is just west of Perth. Walking around the village is like stepping back in time. Some of the notable structures in the village include the St. Bean Church, constructed in the 13th century, and a market cross from the eighth century. There is a Pictish stone on display in front of St. Bean Church. This is a fascinating historical area that is also pretty and pleasant. Walking around it is like walking through ancient Scotland.

Auchingarrish Wildlife Centre is a family fun center near Perth. It is a wildlife park that has a vast array of animals. Children can have hands-on, direct contact with many of the creatures living at the park. Kids can walk around visiting deer, pigs, highland cows and meerkat. There is also a playground for when the kids start feeling restless.
