Karlovy Vary Hotels
Casanova, Mozart, Franz Kafka and Beethoven all visited the charming spa town of Karlovy Vary. Also known as Carlsbad or Karlsbad, Karlovy Vary offers hot, healing mineral spas, Art Nouveau and Baroque architecture and a peaceful setting. Celebrities still visit for the International Film Festival in July. Hotels in Karlovy Vary have old world ambiance and modern amenities, and many have spas with mineral treatments. Three of the most popular hotels are the Hotel Carlsbad Plaza, the Wellness Hotel Jean De Carro and Goethe Haus. They vary in price, but each one has its own spa and is convenient to Karlovy Vary's mineral springs and many sights.
Hotel Carlsbad Plaza
This luxury hotel offers its own spa and thermal water source. Italian designer Scappini designed the 140 rooms and 20 suites with warm tones and comfortable furnishings. Each accommodation features high-speed Internet access, air conditioning, LCD television, DVD player, direct-dial telephone, minibar, and in-room safe. Some rooms have balconies and jetted bathtubs, and several suites have their own saunas. Nonsmoking rooms are available. The spa offers 150 treatments. The Carlsbad Clinic, which is affiliated with the hotel and is next door, has four medical doctors to oversee a variety of health treatments, weight-loss programs and plastic surgery procedures. The Hotel Carlsbad Plaza has three restaurants, two bars and a coffee shop.

Goethe Haus
Goethe Haus is a nonsmoking hotel that opened in 2007. A short walk takes guests from the hotel to the town's famous colonnades. The 22 guest rooms have modern decor and such amenities as flat-screen television with satellite service, high-speed Internet access, bathrooms with tub or shower, minibar and in-room safe. Room service and laundry services are available. A complimentary buffet breakfast is served each morning. Other amenities include banquet and meeting facilities, an indoor swimming pool, a solarium, fitness equipment, a beauty and barbershop, game room, billiards and tour desk. Goethe Haus shares a full service spa with Hotel Ulrika next door.
