B&H Hotels Fiume Rome Review

Rome
Rome
A 10-minute walk from one of the gateways into the ancient city of Rome, the Hotel Fiume is a three-star hotel located in the city's commercial center. The Hotel Fiume is located near the Villa Torlonia, the former home of Mussolini, and the Villa Borghese, Rome's largest public park.
Wows and Woes

While there is a Metro station that is supposed to be only a 10-minute walk from the hotel, the streets around the hotel can be quite crowded, making it a longer and more grueling walk if you are towing luggage.
Emerging into the hotel after battling through pedestrians, however, was a breath of fresh air. We were checked in right away and the staff took very good care of us. Their first-rate English made up for our very poor Italian.

Insider Tips

If you like to fuel up before heading out for a day's sightseeing, treat yourself to breakfast at the hotel. Though it's considered a continental breakfast, there are several hot foods, including bacon and eggs. If you prefer to experience a slice of Roman life at breakfast, there are plenty of restaurants in the immediate vicinity.

Author's Most Memorable Moment

After several long days of walking, another night out was out of the question, but we didn't want to forfeit our last night in Rome. Relaxing with a cup of tea on the rooftop terrace allowed us to unwind while soaking in out last moments with the city from a completely different perspective.

Bottom Line

The well-kept, relatively inexpensive Hotel Fiume has a great Rome location at a cheaper rate than many other hotels in the area.
