Berlin is Germany's capital and its second largest city. This northeastern German city is a popular tourist destination because of its rich culture and history, including its many museums, art galleries and theaters. For those who don't want to spend a lot of money on accommodations in Berlin, hostels are cheap and convenient lodging options.
Heart of Gold Hostel
The Heart of Gold Hostel is conveniently located in the downtown area. In existence since 2003, this low-cost hostel offers budget dorms as well as private, en suite guest rooms. Amenities include complimentary breakfast every morning (between 8 a.m and noon), Internet access, a pool table and a large-screen television in the community area. There is no curfew. Each guest get his own locker.

Circus Berlin Mitte
The Circus Berlin Mitte, established in 2001, is a popular accommodation for backpackers. The hostel offers traditional guest rooms and rooftop apartment accommodations. This downtown Berlin hostel has complimentary high speed wireless Internet access, bicycle rental and airport pick-up service. There are several types of accommodations, ranging from single rooms to 4-person, spacious apartments.

Pegasus Hostel Berlin
Pegasus Hostel Berlin is an inexpensive hostel that has a central city location. Surrounded by a lush courtyard, this hostel has been in existence since 2001. It is in a stylish section of Berlin known as Friedrichshain. The spacious courtyard has a beer garden and table tennis. The rooms are bright and large, and many of them overlook the courtyard. There are dormitory-style accommodations as well as single, en suite guest rooms with showers.

Wombat's Berlin
Wombat's Berlin is a pleasant chain hostel (the other branches are in Munich and Vienna, Austria) that opened in early 2008. The hostel has a central Berlin location and is a brief walk from the metro station. It is close to many restaurants and nightclubs. Some amenities at Wombat's include guest laundry, Internet, complimentary bed sheets, locker access, complimentary city map, bar, pool table, and breakfast buffet (for a small charge).

EastSeven Hostel
EastSeven Hostel, in existence since April of 2005, is a laid-back hostel that is located in the center of Berlin. It is between the central district of the city and quaint Prenzlauer Berg. The hostel is in close proximity to many cafes, restaurants, shops and nightclubs. The hostel consists of private guest rooms and dormitory accommodations suitable for between four and eight individuals. The rooms all come with personal lockers, and are bright and airy.
