Costa Rica Travel Reviews

Costa Rica is becoming more popular as adventure seekers and beach bums descend on the country. The country is also big on eco-tourism. Manuel Antonio National Park is a must-see, a park with lots of wildlife, great beaches and no snack or souvenir stands. Adventure seekers should try zipline rides. They are cable rides high in the air; you are harnessed in and 'zip' across. Another highlight is a canopy tour of the rain forest.
Wows and Woes

It is simply amazing to walk the suspension bridges through the rain forest, a truly unique and memorable experience.

While it is wonderful to spend a day at an unspoiled beach at Manuel Antonio National Park, you must come prepared with water, sunscreen, food and bug spray. Nothing is sold here.

Insider Tips

Bring those little plastic cases that you can wear in the water; the monkeys at the beaches might take your keys, credit card or sunglasses. They're attracted to anything shiny.

Author's Most Memorable Moment

My daughter was looking forward to her first zipline ride, and she was confident and relaxed, until she saw the line suspended high in the air. However, she conquered her fear, grabbed on and squealed the whole way.

Bottom Line

A trip here is worth every penny. You can save a lot if you travel during the rainy season; that runs from May to November.
