Best Tours to Costa Rica
When visiting Costa Rica, sign up for a tour. Tours provide you with both the security of being with a knowledgeable guide, as well as the comfort of knowing someone else is going to plan all the details for you. However, it is still your responsibility to choose which sites and activities you want to find a tour for. Here are some popular areas in Costa Rica you will not want to miss out on.
Tiskita Rain Forest Reserve
Tiskita is a largely untouched 800-acre rain forest reserve found on the southern Pacific Coast of Costa Rica. You will have to arrange a tour as the only way to access this reserve is through a private beach airstrip. You will reside at the Tiskita Jungle Lodge by night, and by day hike the rain forest trails, swim in a remote jungle pool, or just lie on the beach near some of the most crystal blue water you have ever seen.
Arenal Volcano
Hike to the Arenal Volcano. Costa Rica Sun Tours offers this great experience which starts in San Jose and and ends at the Arenal Observatory lodge where you will spend the night right near the volcano. The Arenal Volcano is still very active, so much that the locals call it "the giant that rumbles." By night you may be able to see some of its outflow of lava, while by day the volcano rumbles and shoots out steam.
Monteverde Cloud Forest
The Monteverde Cloud Forest is an attraction you cannot miss during your stay in Costa Rica. The Selvatura's Canopy zip line tour features 15 cables and 18 platforms in which you can zip your way through the jungle canopy alongside monkeys, toucans, and other exotic animals of the rain forest. The tour lasts about three hours, and is an unforgettable experience for your Costa Rican vacation.
Pacuare White Water
If you thought white water rafting was a rush in America, try rafting down a tropical river in Pacuare as monkeys, jaguars, and other exotic animals watch you from the sides of the river. With class 3 and class 4 rapids, this trip will help cool you down and psych you up for the rest of your vacation. Tours provide all the needed training as well as the equipment and guide for the rafting trip.
Manuel Antonio Beach
At Manuel Antonio Beach you can take a dip in some of the clearest water in the world. However, if you still need a little adventure, take a guided snorkeling tour of the incredible underwater life available just off the beach. There are also guided tours of the surrounding jungle area, as well as kayaking tours available to keep you busy for the entire day.
