Adventure Travel to Costa Rica
Costa Rica is the place for
adventure travel. It offers a wide variety of diversity and activities for everyone in the family.
Cloud and Rain Forests
Many people explore the cloud and rain forests via hiking trails or on horseback. Hanging bridges that allow you to look down on the canopy or zip lines where you soar above the trees are popular activities.
Lake Arenal
Lake Arenal is adjacent to the Arenal Volcano. It is known as the second best place in the world to windsurf. Kiteboarding lessons and rentals are available. Wakeboarding and kayaking is also popular. There are sightseeing pontoon boats which can take you to the cloud forest bypassing a long bumpy car ride.
Volcanos
Costa Rica is the home to both active and inactive volcanoes. There are many places to hike to observation areas. There are also places to view the volcanoes while resting in the thermal waters at various spas. All Terrain Vehicles (ATV) and mountain bikes are also available.
Beaches
Costa Rica has a wealth of beaches on both the Pacific and Caribbean sides, some secluded and others packed. Activities include snorkeling and scuba diving. Surfing is very popular. Whale and dolphin watching trips are regularly scheduled. Sport fishing is offered. So is just relaxing at the beach with a wide variety of beach activities. Ultra light flights are available.
Other activities
White water rafting or slow floats down rivers many people enjoy. Others rappel down cliffs. Many take a bird and/or wildlife walk. Turtle watching, particularly during the nesting season, is also very popular.
