You could spend a week exploring the Atlantis and not run out of things to do. This is because this resort not only contains numerous shopping, dining and entertainment options inside its walls, but outside of them as well. Located on the elite Paradise Island, the Atlantis boasts private beaches, a gigantic water park and a close proximity to Nassau, on Paradise Island. Just be sure to pack your camera, sunscreen and beach attire before hitting this magnificent resort that is perfect for the young and old.
Appreciate the Various Water Activities

Being that the Atlantis was built on a small Bahamian island, it's no surprise that the resort uses its water-friendly location to its advantage. While many Caribbean resorts may contain tropical-themed pool areas, the Atlantis transforms its pool area into a whole different world. There's the 141-acre Aquaventure, which contains a lazy river, numerous water slides and even an underground drop-off that propels visitors under a shark-infested tank. You can also interact with marine life through the many aquariums and swimming, snorkeling and scuba diving excursions that the Atlantis offers. Its most popular interactive excursions include swimming with the dolphins, becoming a marine life trainer for the day and a behind-the-scenes visit to the sea lion habitat. For adults looking for a more relaxing experience, check out the seven pools that are located throughout the Atlantis' lush backyard.

Enjoy Some Fine Dining

The Atlantis offers numerous fine dining experiences, even for kids. Both couples and families frequent the resort. The hotel has created its superb menus to reflect this. There are three uniquely-themed buffets for those traveling with picky eaters. Anyone who loves seafood and appreciate the culinary tastes that the Bahamas has to offer will love the Water's Edge buffet, which overlooks a fascinating lagoon filled with marine life. Those looking for no-fail eateries for kids can dine at Johnny Rockets and grab some dessert at Ben & Jerry's, while those looking for some upscale fare should check out Mesa Grill or Nobu. For group travel, nothing beats the Seafire Steakhouse for formal dining or Bimini Road for casual get-togethers. Both are located in Atlantis' Marina Village. Note that children ages 6 and younger eat free at Atlantis if their party is staying at the resort.

Take Pictures

The Atlantis resort is the perfect place to snap some great family portraits or an intimate sunset. Start by exploring the exterior of the resort, stopping to capture the magnificent seahorses, seashells and other decor that makes Atlantis unique. Head toward the pool area next, where you will find numerous aquariums filled with jelly fish, manta rays, sharks, lobsters and other camera-friendly ocean dwellers. Be sure not to miss the beautiful sights that can be found along the Paradise Lagoon and Atlantis beaches. Head inside and again take a minute to appreciate the architecture. If you look closely you'll notice that nearly every fountain, staircase, chandelier, column and fixture contains some oceanic-themed detail, which can range from pearls to dolphins, coral reefs, sponges and even a sea dragon or two. Be sure to not only explore the public walkways, but the casino, shopping mall, lounges and restaurant lobbies as well. Each is packed to the brim with gorgeous seascape architecture.
