This luxurious, 452-room, all-inclusive, adult-only
resort is on a beautiful stretch of
beach near Punta Cana, on the east coast of the Dominican Republic. Secrets is also known as Secrets Excellence or Excellence. It boasts two pools, 10 bars including a swim-up bar, eight fabulous restaurants and many activities to enjoy.
Wows and Woes
Setup for a special dinner on the beach.
Wow: The resort has a great staff with many activities to take part in from games, shows, talent contests and learning activities.
Woes: While the beach was beautiful, Secrets seemed to be lacking water activities. The ocean at this location is rough and swimming was not recommended.
Insider Tips
The garden view suites are just a view of the back of the resort and the air-conditioning units. It is worth it to ask for an ocean view, pool view or swim-up pool view suite.
There are no reservations required for any of the restaurants, but it is recommended to try to make dinner reservations, or go early for dinner to avoid waiting a long time.
Author's Most Memorable Moment
Without even asking for it, there were rose petals on the bed and a bottle of chilled champagne when we got to our room the first day. The room service quickly caught on to what we drank the most (water and beer) and started providing extra when they cleaned our room. Every night when we returned to our room, our bed had been turned down.
Bottom Line
If you require ocean adventures, this might not be the resort for you, but it's an amazing resort where you will be pampered and entertained.
