RIU Palace
RIU Palace Punta Cana is a freshly minted luxury property on the crystal waters and white sands of the Dominican Republic's Punta Cana
resort area. The property's all-inclusive option means all beverages, meals and most water sports are included. Rooms are plush and meant to spoil guests with lavishness of the four-diamond properties in the
Caribbean.
Wows and Woes
The lobby, the pool and the service stand out as tops for the trip. Every effort to accommodate guests is made by the staff. A small tip brings even more attention! The pool and its swim-up bar, along with the comfortable loungers made the afternoon a wonderful event. If there were any downside it would be the small, but well-meaning casino and its staff. A blackjack dealer had to be watched closely or she would pay out in attempt to please us!
Insider Tips
The rooms near the pool are noisy as activities continue into the night. Try to book ocean front or on the tier of rooms above the restaurant.
Author's Most Memorable Moment
A glass of champagne at sunset on the beach before dinner became a ritual. The bubbly they pour may not be Moet Chandon, but, the background cannot be beat! We relished each evening with this special moment on the uncrowded beach.
Bottom Line
RIU Palace Punta Cana is a gem. The rates are low and the staff is dedicated. Rooms are more than comfortable and clean.
