Wows and Woes
Cold drinks are provided at check in. The staff is welcoming and professional. The resort was clean, with nice pools and a beautiful beach. The resort shortcomings included out dated decor, and beach vendors and bars that close early.
Insider Tips
Take an excursion around the island. You will be able to do some waterfall climbing, and take a catamaran to Sosua Beach where you can go snorkeling in the crystal clear turquoise ocean.
Author's Most Memorable Moment
I learned to SCUBA dive and went horseback riding; it was incorporated in the all-inclusive price of the resort. Both activities were amazing experiences, ones that I will remember forever as my souvenirs from the Dominican Republic.
Bottom Line
With Caribbean crystal clear turquoise waters and over six restaurants to dine the Allegro Playa Dorada resort is sure to leave you feeling satisfied.
