Jamaica is one of the most highly visited islands in the Caribbean Sea for good reason. With its delicious native foods, reggae and steel drum music, friendly natives and gorgeous beaches, there's something for everyone to enjoy. If you're traveling to Jamaica in the month of November, keep these weather facts in mind.
Temperatures

The average temperatures in Jamaica in November are a high of 85 degrees F and a low of 75 degrees F.

Rainfall

Jamaica's average rainfall in November is 5.5 inches, making it one of the top four rainiest months. Rain is most likely to occur in the afternoon and evening hours. Of interest, the southwestern coast of Jamaica receives very little rain, while the east coast receives the most rain. Showers are heavy and brief followed by sunshine.

Hurricane Season

Jamaica is within the hurricane belt. The official hurricane season is from June 1 through November 30, however August and September are the peak months. Hurricanes rarely hit the island directly.

If a Hurricane Hits

Today's meteorology tools are quite accurate and hurricanes in the Caribbean Sea are followed carefully. If a hurricane should hit Jamaica before you travel, ask your travel agent to inquire as to the amount of damage and whether businesses remain open. Chances are you will not have to postpone your trip.

If you are visiting the mountainous region of Jamaica, dress warmly as temperatures can be as low as 40 degrees F in winter.
