Jamaica Vacation Spots

Visitors to Jamaica, no matter what their interest, can find something to do on any part of the island. From the nightlife of Montego Bay on the west coast to the eco-friendly tours of Port Antonio on the east cost, Jamaica entertains its guests night and day. Some visitors may be happy just to lay on the beaches, while others may wish to partake in the culture that makes the small island a popular Caribbean destination.
Montego Bay

Located on the northwest shore of Jamaica, Montego Bay is the second-largest resort city on the island. While Montego Bay offers many family activities and adventures, visitors enjoy the Caribbean nightlife when the sun goes down.
Attractions such as The Voyage at Aquasol Theme Park host regularly scheduled beach parties throughout the year. Margueritaville is located on the Strip, where there is a Caribbean party going night and day.

Ocho Rios

Centrally located on the northern shore of Jamaica sits the resort town of Ocho Rios. This city, whose name literally means "Eight Rivers," offers visitors a number of daytime excursions and island adventures. Fern Gulley offers a three-mile hike through a former river bed to explore breathtaking ferns and hardwood trees.
Dunn's River Falls offers 600 feet of water cascading down rock terraces as the water makes its way to the beach below. Each week, on the Dunn's River, there is a celebration featuring live music and food.

Port Antonio

Port Antonio is located on the northeast coast of the island, only 60 miles from the Jamaican capital of Kingston. Port Antonio is the third-largest port on the island and is a well-known shipping port for bananas and coconut. Port Antonio is home to many pristine beaches and breathtaking waterfalls, including the famous Blue Lagoon. The Blue Lagoon is a small cove with water of green and blue hues, made possible by underground mineral springs.

Visitors to Port Antonio can take in the beauty of the island by taking part in a guided tour. Companies such as Jamaica Explorations offer eco-cultural tours that give visitors a firsthand look at life on the island.
