Coconut Bay
resort & Spa is an all-inclusive resort. It has St Lucia's only water park, with body slides and a lazy river. There is a kids' club with a big water play area. The resort is divided into two parts. There is the adults-only Harmony, with its own pool; the family-friendly Splash overlooks the water park and a pirate ship. There is also paintball, basketball and daily activities.
Wows and Woes
Being just 5 minutes from the airport is very convenient when dealing with check out. The resort does a good job in appealing to both families and couples.
There are no roll-away beds. For families that can't fit into 2 queen beds, you have to get a second (adjoining) room. Also, there are a lot of vendors on the beach; this can make some people feel uncomfortable.
Insider Tips
Although the food is good, the resort does not necessarily have the particular food some kids require. Get an in-room fridge; bring essential foods that your kids cannot live without. It will help if the menus don't appeal to them.
Author's Most Memorable Moment
This was the first place we went to with a swim-up bar, and my daughter learned how to swim. She did this so she could jump in the pool and paddle over to order a smoothie.
Bottom Line
You get good value with all meals, drinks and choices of where to eat. Rooms are not luxurious, but you are kept busy.
