The Wyndham Sugar Bay
resort & Spa has a huge, state-of-the art fitness center and gorgeous spa, white sand
beaches and several restaurants. There are three interconnected pools and a waterfall, plus an unusual feature: the hotel has its own miniature golf course. The Kids Club offers parents and their kids a respite.
Wows and Woes
If you like to work out, the fitness center has all the latest equipment, plus classes, in an airy room upstairs from the spa.
While the pools are nice, and there is a lot of room, loud music plays almost all day long; if you want a quiet spot to read, this is not the place.
Insider Tips
Even if you don't sign your kids up for the Kids Club (free for anyone on the all-inclusive plan) you can show up for the daily iguana feedings. The resort is home to many huge lizards.
Author's Most Memorable Moment
St. Thomas is known for shopping, but it is also home to the Atlantis submarine tour, where you go down 80 feet. My daughter went (I was too scared) and was amazed by the coral reef and huge shark she saw up close.
Bottom Line
The all-inclusive plan is a good deal, if you don't want to explore nearby restaurants; it includes all meals, drinks, Kids Club and non-motorized water sports.
