Atlantis Resort Information
The Atlantis
resorts, a Kerzner International subsidiary, is a company created to manage and operate the Atlantis properties. There are two Atlantis resorts. One is located in the Bahamas and is called the Atlantis Paradise Island. The other is located in Dubai, United Arab Emirates and is called Atlantis, The Palm.
History
The Atlantis Paradise Island was developed in 1994 by Sol Kerzner, a South African Tycoon. In 2008, Atlantis, The Palm was added in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
Accommodations
The Atlantis Paradise Island resort offers travelers with over 3000 guest rooms. Guest rooms are located in the Royal Towers, Coral Towers, beach Tower, The Cove Atlantis, The Reef Atlantis and the Harborside Resort.
Attractions
Attractions at the Atlantis Paradise Island resort include the Aquaventure (a 63-acre water park), The Current (a mile long lazy river ride with tidel surges and waves), Mayan Temple Slides (entertainment attraction slides), The Dig (a large array of aquariums) and Dolphin Cay (allows visitors to get up close and personal with dolphins).
Atlantis, Dubai
Atlantis, The Palm in Dubai, United Arab Emirates opened in September 2008. The Atlantis in Dubai offers over 1,500 guest rooms in two towers connected by a bridge. Attractions include an Aquaventure theme park and Dolphin Bay.
Pop Culture
The Atlantis Paradise Island has been featured in both television and movies including My Wife and Kids, Friends, Casino Royale and Duplicity. On the musical front, Ricky Martin, N Sync and Tim McGraw have used the Atlantis as their backdrop in either a music video or concert. The 2009 Miss Universe Pageant will be featured at the Atlantis Paradise Island.
