Varadero is a resort town that's situated on one of Cuba's most beautiful beaches. Whether you want to lounge on the beach or immerse yourself in the night life, there is plenty to do. You can also get a taste of Varadero's culture by visiting its historic sites.
Hitting the beach

Varadero's white-sand beach stretches for about 30 miles, giving you plenty of space to explore. You can sunbathe to get a holiday tan. The surf is also relaxed and perfect for swimming. Beyond just lying around the beach, you can also go scuba diving. If you are new to diving, you can take a course as well and get certified.
Three marinas are in Varadero, and they provide daylong fishing trips.

Historic Sites

The Ambrosio Caves are a series of caverns that used to be under the ocean. Inside you can find a series of rock formations as well as cave drawings dating back thousands of years.
The Municipal Museum of History of Varadero is a two-story building where you can find maps dating to before the Spanish conquest as well as art from the indigenous culture.

Night Life

There are plenty of clubs with dance floors. You can find something that suits your taste whether you are looking for the latest in electronic music or want to traditional Cuban music.
The Mambo Club has a live band specializing in mambo and salsa music. This is the place to be to get a taste of Cuban music.
The are also live entertainment, such as dancing shows at places like La Cueva Del PIrata. This cabaret is in a cave.
