Visiting Puerto Rico is a great way of learning more about a culture while also having a lot of fun. You could learn about music at a museum, look at religious history, or just relax at the beach.
Listen to Music at the Pablo Casals Museum

Whether you like piano and cello music or you just want a taste of Puerto Rico's culture, the entire family should visit the Pablo Casals Museum. Pablo Casals was a famous cellist that provided musical performances in San Juan from the mid 1950s until his death in 1973. Through his efforts, he helped create the Puerto Rico Symphony Orchestra, Conservatory of Music and the Casals Festival. At this museum in his honor, you will experience his engaging music and see what his life was like. You'll even get to see his cello and piano. The Pablo Casals Museum is open Tuesday through Saturday. Adult entrance costs $1 while children get in at half price.

Experience History at the San Juan Cathedral

The San Juan Cathedral, known to locals as Catedral de San Juan Bautista, is one of the oldest buildings in Puerto Rico. It was built in 1540 near the start of the settling of North America. This cathedral is a good example of medieval architecture that isn't often seen in this area of the world. For those that follow the faith, it can also be a tremendously spiritual experience. For non-religious people, this cathedral is an amazing visit for its history and architecture. The San Juan Cathedral, located on Calle del Cristo in San Juan, is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. every day and admission is free.

Swim at Condado Beach

While there are many beaches in San Juan, Peurto Rico, Condado Beach is special because it is a favorite of locals. Condado is right next to the Condado Beach resort, although anywhere on the beach is free for public use. If you're interested in sunning on white sand beaches and swimming in crystal blue waters, this is the place to go. Condado Beach is particularly good to visit during the week as there are far less people and feels more private. You can find Candado Beach off of Ashford Avenue in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
