Canada, Toronto is in the province of Ontario. This cosmopolitan city has many sites to see including the CN Tower, the Distillery District (an area rich with Victorian-era industrial architecture) and Toronto Harbor. Visit the city's first artificial

Annapurna
Established in 1974, Annapurna is Toronto's oldest vegetarian restaurant. This brightly decorated, casual restaurant serves South Indian, vegetarian and vegan fare. Vegetarian dishes include falafel, a spicy tofu burger and potato masala. One South Indian specialty is dosai, a crepe made from rice and lentil flour. The restaurant offers a selection of toppings for its dosai, including coconut chutney and sambar sauce. Decorated in pastel murals of flowers, Annapurna is open daily for lunch and dinner. Casual dress is perfectly acceptable at this popular establishment.

Cafe 668
This small, contemporary restaurant serves vegetarian dishes with an Asian touch. Choose from entrees like lemongrass tofu, satay "veggie beef" and mango tofu stir-fry. Chicken, beef and fish are substituted with vegetarian ingredients like wheat gluten, bean curd and tofu. A selection of entrees with noodles also is available, such as Singapore curry vermicelli, made with curry, coconut cream and vegetables. This restaurant is open for dinner Monday to Thursday and for lunch and dinner on weekends. Casual dress is appropriate at this sleek restaurant.

Il Fornello
This warm, yet modern restaurant was rated among Zagat's "Top Ten Restaurants in Toronto" in 2006 and has eight locations throughout Toronto. Il Fornello opened in 1986 for vegetarians and non-vegetarians alike, focusing on Italian food. Vegetarians can enjoy the handmade pizzas and pastas made with organic, yeast-free spelt flour, Quejos flour or multi-grain. Choose from brick oven pizzas topped with such ingredients as figs and gorgonzola. This particular location is on Yonge Street, one of Toronto's major thoroughfares. Smart-casual dress is required at this stylish restaurant.
