How to Get a Tourist Visa in Canada
Every year, Canada welcomes more than 5,000 visitors. U.S. citizens do not need a visa to visit the country, as long as they stay for a period of less then three months. They do, however, need a valid passport or green card to travel across the border. Citizens of many other countries, including Taiwan, India, Afghanistan, Egypt, Iraq, and Dominican Republic, must apply for a tourist visa prior to traveling to Canada.

Step 4

Include other documents if needed. This includes ID cards to prove your identity, proof of employment, a proposed itinerary, or an invitation letter from friends or relatives in Canada. The website of the visa office responsible for your country has more information.

Step 5

Pay the fee for a tourist visa. It costs about $75 for single entry, $150 for a multiple entry document, and $400 for a family visa.

Step 6

Mail the application form and all related documents to the Canadian visa office in your region. Note that in most countries, the application fee has to be paid in Canadian dollars.
