Facts on the Canadian Railroad

Amtrak of U.S. origin is similar to the Canadian Rail Services of today. Several branches of Canada Railway dip into major cities such as Albany, New York, Chicago, and a few other prominent American cities. The Canadian rail service, VIA Rail, also was the first in North America to provide wireless internet access. The Canadian Railroad is reported to be a primary factor in the growth of Canada.

Rail Canada sends out 480 trains per week to cover the 8,699.20 miles of track, serving around 4 million passengers a year.

Stations

Hundreds of stations cover Canada. They include Abbotsford in British-Columbia, Brockville in Ontario and Pacific in British-Columbia.

Destinations

Rail Canada covers a sizable portion of the country. From the west coast to the east coast along the Canada/United States border and into the northern providences, the railway trucks along. Some of the lines head south in major U.S. cities.
