The 23-story Pan Pacific Vancouver is a popular, landmark, downtown waterfront hotel. This luxury hotel consistently earns a five-diamond rating from the American Automobile Association. All 503 luxurious guest rooms (including 39 suites) offer amazing views of the Coastal Mountains, Coal Harbour and/or the Vancouver city skyline. Connected to the Vancouver Convention Centre & Exhibition Centre, the hotel shares its prestigious Canada Place complex address with CN IMAX theatre, the World Trade Centre office complex and Vancouver's Cruise Ship Terminal. Guests also have convenient access to Stanley Park, shopping, theatres and the financial district.

Business and conference travelers are rewarded by convenient access to the Vancouver Convention Centre and area attractions. Add a high-tech work station with large desk and high-speed wired Internet access, and your office on the road is convenient and comfortable.

Consider paying extra for an upgrade to the Pacific Club guest rooms and lounge, located on the 21st through 23rd floors to take advantage of complimentary local and 800 phone calls, fitness club access and wired Internet service. The facility offers a great continental breakfast and complimentary evening hors d'oeuvres.

It's worth the experience to explore the Vancouver neighborhood, a foodies' delight. However, the best seat in the hotel is the waterfront Cascades Lounge with a wide selection of B.C. wines and local cheeses. For an over the top experience and view, dip your toes into the rooftop pool and your eyes will feast on the sweeping view of the harbour and the "living roof" at the Vancouver Convention Centre.

Author's Most Memorable Moment

My Bayview Suite was oversized and comfortable, so much so that it wasn't easy getting out of bed. Each morning I woke up to the hum of float planes, surprisingly relaxing and not irritating, and with a fascinating view of the Vancouver Convention Centre's "living roof," a six-acre grass and wildflower roof similar in design to an infinity pool (sans the pool).

Bottom Line

The Pan Pacific Hotel Vancouver is a perfect stop for discerning luxury travelers. However, the adjacent Vancouver Convention Centre and its busy conference traffic can be distracting.
