Shafali has been pleasing Indian food aficionados in Dalhousie since 1997. According to Ottawakiosk.com, Shafali's specialties include matar paneer, lamb korma and tandoori chicken. This restaurant is open for dinner only and is closed on Mondays. Xpresso, a socially conscious organic coffee shop, is also on-site, along with the Shafali Bazaar, which sells Indian groceries and take-out food including their famous "curry in a hurry."

Haveli Indian
Haveli Indian has been a staple of Dalhousie Indian cuisine since 1984. According to American Airlines Magazine, local celebrities including singer Bryan Adams are known to frequent this establishment. Haveli Indian offers diners a wide selection of fare including seekh kabob, spicy sambar and murg korma. This restaurant is open daily for dinner and offers a daily lunch buffet. A special dinner buffet is served on Sunday nights only. As of 2010, prices for main dishes at Haveli Indian ranged from $15 to $28.

Govindas Vegetarian Buffet
Govinda's Vegetarian Buffet is located within the Hare Krishna Temple in the Dalhousie area of Ottawa, and it is open Monday through Friday for dinner. Govinda's was opened in 1981, and it is Ottawa's oldest vegetarian restaurant. The inexpensive buffet features hot and cold vegetarian Indian fare served in a sparsely decorated alcohol and smoke-free environment. As of 2010, the price for the all-you-can-eat buffet was approximately $7.
