Niagara Falls is a popular tourist destination. It is located in Ontario, just across the U.S./
Canada border.
United States citizens that want to drive into Niagara Falls don't have to have a passport. However, you must have documentation that proves you are a United States citizen, such as a photo ID or birth certificate. People flying into Niagara Falls will need a valid passport.
Accommodations
Niagara Falls has hotels that feature indoor water parks, which is a bonus on cold or rainy days. As of March 2009, these include the Sheraton, Americana, Crowne Plaza and Skyline Inn.
Dining
You can find all types of dining in Niagara Falls, including casual and formal. For example, you can start out with breakfast at Watermark Fallsview Restaurant, have lunch at Zappi's, enjoy an afternoon snack at Italian Ice Cream and then finish off your evening with a romantic meal at The Beef Baron.
Weddings
Getting married in Niagara Falls requires that you purchase a marriage license in Ontario that is good at any time from the time it is purchased until 90 days after that. Going through a wedding service, such as Occasions in Niagara or The Wedding Company of Niagara, gives you the peace of mind knowing that everything will be taken care of for you.
Attractions
Besides visiting the Falls, visitors to Niagara Falls may enjoy visiting the Nightmare Fear Factory if you enjoy horror movies, Reg's Candy Kitchen if you have a sweet tooth or Ripley's Believe It Or Not to see some interesting sights. Many tours, including bicycle tours from Niagara Freewheelers Bicycle Touring Club, are available at the Falls.
Transportation
In addition to driving around Niagara Falls, you can opt to use the People Mover, which is a specialized bus system, or Falls Shuttle, which is regular bus system and taxis. If you plan to use the public transportation, remember that People Movers isn't wheelchair accessible.
Boat Tours
One of the popular ways to take in the beauty of the Falls is via a boat ride. The Maid of the Mist is one such ride that features a tour guide and trips every 30 minutes from the U.S. side or the Canadian side of the Falls.
Casinos
For adults who like to gamble for fun, Niagara Falls has casinos, such as Casino Niagara. Most casinos have a minimum age of 19 to enter the gaming floor.
