In the summertime, Toronto residents flee the city en masse to enjoy the natural splendors of Wasaga
beach. Home to the largest natural beach in the world, Wasaga Beach offers visitors numerous campgrounds and a plethora of outdoor activity with which to busy themselves.
How to Get There
Wasaga Beach is a 90-minute drive north of Toronto. Take Highway 400 North, exit at Highway 26, turn right at Sunnidale Corners, turn right on to Mosley Street and drive until you reach the main end of Nottawasaga Bay.
Where to Camp
The most popular campground in the area is undoubtedly the Sunshine Campgrounds, located about 2 miles from the beach at 646 River Road West.
What to Do
Swim, hike the surrounding trails and enjoy the boardwalk at Wasaga Beach Provincial Park. Wasaga Water World features a wave pool, water slides and mini golf.
Where to Eat
If you don't feel like grilling your own food, there are a number of chain restaurants located around the beach, including McDonald's, Subway and Burger King.
Nearby Attractions
The town of Collingwood, located just west of Wasaga Beach, offers golf and hiking possibilities. Creemore, home of the Creemore Springs Brewery, is 20 minutes away by car.
