How to Unlock the iPod Volume Lock
By adding a pass code to your iPod's Volume Limit setting, nobody can make changes to your settings unless they enter your very specific pass code. This can prevent unwanted individuals from screwing up your device's finely tuned settings. The volume limit controls just how high the volume on your iPod can get. Making it higher will make your headphones sound louder, but can decrease battery life.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy
Step 1

Use your iPod's scroll wheel to navigate to the option that reads "Settings" on the iPod's main menu. Once "Settings" is highlighted select the "ENTER" button.

Step 2

Navigate to the option that reads "Volume Limit." Press the "ENTER" button to select it.

Step 3

Enter any pass code you may have previously set to lock the iPod's volume limit. The default pass code for an iPod is "0000."

Step 4

Use the scroll wheel to set the iPod's volume limit. Scroll to the right to increase the volume limit and to the left to decrease it.

Step 5

Press the "ENTER" button to set the volume limit. The limit will be marked by a small diamond underneath the volume meter. The volume limit is now set.
