How to Reset an iPod Video
The iPod Video is another in the long line of Apple's iPod personal MP3 players. The iPod Video is also known as the "Fifth Generation iPod." It was the first iPod that could play video files in addition to music files. It has since been discontinued and replaced in the iPod line with the iPod Classic. If your iPod Video freezes up on you for any reason, it will have to be reset. Resetting an iPod Video completely powers it down and then turns it back on again. This has the same effect of rebooting a computer--it clears the iPod's internal memory and starts it back up completely fresh.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy
Step 1

Press and hold the "Play/Pause" and the "Enter" button on your iPod Video simultaneously.

Step 2

Wait for the Apple logo to appear on screen. This logo means the iPod Video is powering down. You can now release the "Play/Pause" and the "Enter" buttons.

Step 3

Wait a few seconds for the iPod to completely power down and for the Apple logo to disappear.

Step 4

Press and hold the "Play/Pause" and "Enter" buttons once again.

Step 5

Hold these buttons until the Apple logo appears on screen again. This means the iPod is turning back on, and you can release the buttons. After a few seconds, the iPod Video's menu will appear and you can use it again as normal.
