Interesting Places in Perth
The City of Perth is located in Western Australia. It was founded in 1829 and was recently named the "remotest city on the planet." Despite this name-tag, Perth is a cosmopolitan city with great weather, scenic beaches, and lots of interesting places to visit. Make sure to check out some of the following tourist attractions over the course of your stay.
Kings Park and Botanic Gardens

Kings Park and Botanic Gardens is situated just outside the heart of town, high up on Mount Eliza on Fraser Avenue in Perth. This park gives visitors a great view of the city and Swan River. The park boasts over 400 hectares of natural bushland and open space. Hundreds of native plants and animals can be found here. Make sure to visit the State War Memorial. Free concerts are held in the summer, and the Kings Park Wildflower Festival is held in the spring.

Fremantle Prison is the most famous convict-constructed building in all of Australia. The prison was built by convicts back in the 1850s. It was a tough job for these prisoners, quarrying limestone on site to build their own cells. Torchlight, Tunnel and Great Escape Tours are available. Adults can tour the prison for around $20 and children's tickets cost about $11, depending on the tour options you select. The Tunnel Tour is significantly more expensive.
