Traveling "down under" is a great experience for a family. It's a wonderful opportunity to communicate the concepts of evolution due to the country's varied animal and plant species.
Wildlife
Children will delight in seeing native Australian wildlife, such as kangaroos and koalas. The best method is to hire a guide and head into the Outback or visit Kangaroo Island, an island that is teeming with wildlife, off the coast in Southern Australia.
The Wiggles
One of the most popular children's entertainment groups, The Wiggles have created Wiggles World in Queensland. It includes opportunities to meet Dorothy the Dinosaur and play in the maze, bouncy houses and ball pit.

Sydney
Sydney offers the most options for children and families and is a good city from which to launch your trip. Take the children to the Sydney Children's Museum for child-friendly activities.

Hotels
Regardless of your final Australian destination, the Four Seasons and InterContintental hotels both offer family-friendly accommodations including small fridges in the room. The Four Seasons also includes breakfast as part of the room package.
Western Australia
If your travels are focused more on the Western coast, then take the kids to Kings Park and Botanic Garden in Perth. This huge park offers a beautiful view of the city and play structures for the kids. In October, the Botanic Gardens provide a display of the wildflowers that is unparalleled on the continent.
