Review of Kata Palm Resort Spa Hotel

A hotel as exquisite as The Kata Palm resort and Spa in Phuket, Thailand could easily charge an arm and a leg. But in Thailand luxury comes cheap. The resort has top amenities and the most stunning decor, with beds made from local teak wood and balconies that open directly to the swimming pool.
Wows and Woes

The rooms are a natural beauty unto themselves, showing respect of its Eastern roots while supplying modern, Western styled amenities like cable television.

Though it is hard to criticize any aspect of this hotel, the resort massages are more expensive than the ones you can get out on the beach.

Insider Tips

Get your day massage for cheap on the beach and indulge in a night massage from the hotel before you go to sleep; both will still cost less than a massage back home.

Author's Most Memorable Moment

Thailand is hot and you wake up wanting a cold shower. I indulged and got one of the rooms with the balcony that opens out onto the pool. I woke up, opened the door and dived in the pool. Then I dried off and went back to sleep again. I want my own home to be like this.

Bottom Line

Simply divine perfection, this hotel is infused with beauty in the midst of an amazing country; and it's still affordable with rooms as little as $50 US.
