Macau is a special province of the People's Republic of China, and like Hong Kong retains its own identity while still being part of the Chinese government. The province is known for its textiles, toys and electronics. Macau also became a bigger tourist destination throughout the 20th and 21st centuries. There are several luxury hotels in Macau, which offer a number of services to both business and leisure travelers.

The Venetian Macao resort Hotel is an all-suites luxury property offering 3,000 suites for visitors to Macau. Suites include features such as canopy beds, high-quality duvets, 24-hour room service, a fax machine-copier-printer, high-speed Internet access, and luxury bathrooms with showers and bathtubs. The Venetian Macao Resort Hotel amenities include outdoor swimming pools, a golf course, available gondola rides, a spa, a health club, a shopping complex, and more than 30 restaurants. As of July 2009, nightly suite rates started at about $175 per night.

Wynn Macau
Wynn Macau is a luxury hotel owned by a small company, and was built to combine both Eastern culture and the amenities of Las Vegas hotels. Guest rooms offer features such as signature pillow-top beds, Egyptian bedding, bedside controls for lights and drapes, cordless telephones, high-speed Internet access, flat-screen televisions, and luxury bathrooms with deluxe bath and body items. Wynn Macau has several restaurants and bars. Other amenities include a beauty salon, a spa, high-end shops such as Christian Dior and Prada, meeting space and swimming pools. As of July 2009, room rates started at about $230 per night.
