Georgian Terrace Hotel
Atlanta is a fun city that is full of interesting sites, great restaurants and historic hotels. The Georgian Terrace is a fine example of one of these historic hotels. It has been a central feature in Atlanta for decades, even playing a role in the premiere of Gone With the Wind.
The rooms are apartment-like. Many have separate living rooms, bedrooms and full kitchens. Also, there is considerable meeting space in the basement for conventions or business meetings.
Wows and Woes
The best thing about the Georgian Terrace is the size of the rooms. The "average" room is very large (about 850 square feet) and includes a full kitchen.
Insider Tips
The restaurant in the hotel recently has been remodeled. In the spring and the fall, the outdoor dining is outstanding for people watching because it is on Peachtree Street, which is a main thoroughfare in Midtown Atlanta.
Author's Most Memorable Moment
I essentially lived in the Georgian Terrace for a period of about three months. I remember the day that I finally shifted from treating it like a normal hotel to treating it like an apartment because the room included a dishwasher, refrigerator, etc. Trips to restaurants quickly were replaced with trips to the supermarket. This saved tons of money.
Bottom Line
The Georgian Terrace offers good value for the money and the rooms are big enough to be very comfortable.
