Cape Town, South
Africa is one of Africa's most exciting tourist destinations. This elegant and cosmopolitan African city has a pleasant, warm climate, a majestic mountain and gentle valleys. There is no shortage of exciting things to do and see while visiting Cape Town. If you are planning a
family vacation to Cape Town, never fear, as there are a plenty of exciting activities for kids to partake in while in the city as well.
Boulders Beach
Cape Town's Boulders beach is an excellent place for kids to spend some time in the sun and have a lot of fun. The beach is home to many resident penguins, which is sure to delight children. The beach is calm and ideal for children swimming. Penguins are almost always present on the beach, so it's very likely that they will come right up to people, whether they are sunbathing, building a sandcastle or having a picnic.
V&A Waterfront
The V&A Waterfront (standing for Queen Victoria of England and her son, Alfred, who opened the water front) is another fun place for children. The waterfront offers an abundance of entertainment options and games for kids, as well as fast food and even boat rides. The waterfront is also the home of Two Oceans Aquarium, which will give children a chance to look at some local and international aquatic life up close. Be sure to also check out the Telkom Exploratorium, which is an interactive science museum that is both educational and exciting for kids.
Monkey Town Primate Centre
The Monkey Town Primate Centre is exactly what its name implies--a place where a lot of monkeys (from all corners of the earth) are on display. There are over 220 monkeys residing at this center, and there is even a "touch farm" where kids can pet and get up close look at the monkeys. The center offers detailed guided tours. There is also a play park on the premises.
City ROCK
If you are visiting Cape Town with kids, and it happens to be raining, there is no need to fret. City ROCK is Cape Town's most popular climbing gym located indoors. If you have children with a lot of energy, this is a great place to help them work off all of their hyperactivity. In the boulder cave, kids will have a grand time engaging in both roped and unroped climbing, and also climbing ladders.
