Mandeville Hotel Room
Located in the Marylebone district of London is a beautiful, premier luxury hotel that is often the first choice for high-end clientele, business executives, and those who enjoy haute couture. This may make London's Mandeville Hotel seem untouchable for the layman, but that's not necessarily the case. It simply offers excellent meeting rooms and is situated near some of the world famous auction houses and London galleries. There are plenty of specials that the hotel offers for guests who simply want a taste for refined elegance, which is absent in many hotels.
Insider Tips
The Mandeville Hotel offers 142 different bedrooms for guests to choose from. Some of the biggest names in interior design contributed to each room's layout. Simple, yet elegant decors are found here that use soft, yet vibrant colors. Make sure and book the stunning penthouse suite, one the best rooms around. The hotel has a lavish and popular restaurant, known as the deVille, as well as a beautiful bar for guests and London denizens to reside at. There are three spacious meeting rooms, as well, making this hotel worth taking your high-end business clients to. The hotel offers a nice afternoon tea at the deVille restaurant that is available to all guests, from Monday through Saturday.
Pros and Cons
Out of all the hotels in London, the Mandeville is truly one of the most aesthetic in a traditional, refined sense. While not overtly modern, it prides itself in elegance. However, this elegance also bleeds over into the price of things. Meals and drinks at the bar are expensive, although the food in particular is worth it at times. If you are on a business trip or checking out the auction houses down the street, then this hotel is worth staying at. The staff will really help put your meeting together or aid you in going out on the town. However, according to a number of guests, there have been staff problems in the past. While this is common in all hotels, it should be noted.
Bottom Line
While there have been numerous complaints about the staff at this particular restaurant, overall it is a comfortable and luxurious place. While a bit on the pricey side, you get what you pay for. Numerous useful amenities are offered to everyone and the hotel restaurant serves some tasty food. You can find the same drinks for less at nearby bars, though. What really makes this a stellar hotel is the afternoon tea. It's relaxing, reasonable, and has a wide variety of teas, tarts, and pastries to offer as well as delicious lunchtime snacks. Given the ideal location as well, this is a highly recommended hotel.
