If your passport from Ghana has expired, the first step is to contact the nearest consular authority, whether it is a consular office in Accra or the nearest Ghanaian embassy. While the price may be a bit steep, processing time is about average.

Step 1
Purchase and complete the Passport Application Form from the nearest consular office of Ghana.
Step 2
Attach four passport-sized photos (2 by 2 ½ inches) that are identical to each other and truly representative of yourself.
Step 3
Attach your expired passport. In the case of a lost or stolen passport, submit a police report, an alternate form of state ID and your birth certificate.
Step 4
Make your passport application processing fee payment in the form of money order, cashier's check or cash. Cash is only accepted when paying in person. The processing fee for a typical renewal is less expensive than the fee for replacing a lost or stolen passport.
Step 5
Deliver or send all your documents to the nearest Ghanaian consular section. Wait 2 to 4 weeks for your renewal to be processed. If you need your passport in a hurry, passport expediting services are often offered, but generally not for renewals of missing passports.
