Grand Canyon River Tours

Participating in a Grand Canyon river tour is a unique and exciting way to explore the canyon. Despite how well you think you know Grand Canyon National Park and/or how many times you have visited, there are some aspects of the park that can only be viewed from the Colorado River. Participating in a tour allows visitors the opportunity to experience the park from all sides.

Grand Canyon Colorado River Tours
In my opinion, the best way to participate in a Grand Canyon rafting tour is to first explore the canyon via helicopter. Granted, it is easy to reach the Colorado River via Boulder Airport, but to truly get the most from your experience I recommend you first get a bird's eye view of the canyon from a helicopter tour. There are many helicopter charter companies that offer combo tours that include rafting.

There are many different types of Grand Canyon river rafting tours available, but the basic breakdown is between private and public trips. Public rafting trips are fun, but in my opinion the best way to experience the Colorado River is via a private rafting trip. Private trips are more expensive than public ones but I believe the additional cost is worth it.

There are myriads of Grand Canyon guide companies that specialize in rafting trips. When looking for the one to help facilitate your trip, I recommend that you contact a bunch of different places. Don't be afraid to ask questions. How long has the company been in operation? How experienced are the guides? Where can you find references? Knowing the answers to such questions will provide helpful in narrowing your options.
