If you already know you want to become a travel agent and are looking for travel agent jobs, good for you. If you have been looking for travel agent jobs, you've probably noticed that it's a tough market. If you want to work for someone's agency, it's quite hard to find a place as a travel agent.
Times were tough even when I looked into becoming a travel agent. Travel agent jobs seemed to be so scarce. When there were jobs available, the pay was bad and the agency was always a little shady, if you know what I mean.
You Don't Have To Worry About Travel Agent Jobs If You're The Boss
In this economy and because of world events, not to mention the Internet, travel agent jobs are quite hard to come by. Many times, first-time agents are being asked to work on commission only, meaning you only make money for what you sell. This can be a great thing IF you're working for yourself.
Why only make money on commission working for someone else when you can make that money working for you? It doesn't make sense to give part of your earnings away when you can keep the majority of them. The best travel agents jobs don't exist anymore so independent travel agents are everywhere.
