Travel Agent Courses

There are a number of travel agent courses that you can take to learn the travel business basics. These travel agent courses are especially useful if you know absolutely nothing about travel. They are also good if you want to become a travel agent as your only career, specifically within an office setting.

There are some companies that require you take travel agent courses before you're allowed to work for them. Even though they require that you take travel agent courses, the company won't pay for them. In addition, even after taking the courses, you may still be on some sort of probation and may not even be able to take advantage of any benefits for up to a year.

Not All Companies Require Travel Agent Courses
There are some companies out there that don't require travel agent courses to work for them. There are some, like Global Travel International, that give you, as part of the job, a manual for you to study and refer to when you need to. Travel agent courses last a day while the manual lasts as long as you need it.

Of course, you can always take travel agent courses if you'd like to. Some are more expensive than others and some can take up to a week or more to complete. I took a travel agent course when I was in college as a part of my university job. I found it somewhat interesting, but if I had to pay for the course I probably wouldn't have been too happy.
