I consider myself part of an online travel agency. While I don't consider that I work for anyone but myself, I am part of a network of independent travel agents who receive benefits and arrange travel through an online travel agency. When I first signed up for my travel agent career, I though I would spend all day long on a phone booking travel.
The great thing was that the online travel agency actually took care of the booking of travel. All I had to really do was refer my clients to the company's call center and they got a great deal on travel. You can imagine how pleased I was at the little amount of work I was doing.
My Online Travel Agency Saved Me
Perhaps saying that my online travel agency saved me is a little dramatic. I had spent over 20 years of my working life slaving away and getting stressed out beyond belief. I had two ulcers by the time I was 28 and by the age of 50 I am happy to not do a whole lot of work.
When I decided to start a travel agency, I really didn't know what I was getting into. Little did I know that I'd be in for discounts of travel and a good amount of extra money. I had all this and I didn't have to worry about owning a business and dealing with budgets and the like. I was and am in heaven!
