Independent Travel Agents

When trying to figure out how to become a travel agent, I read that independent travel agents were taking the market by storm. Because of the ease of accessing the Internet for travel information and booking, it was almost as if anyone could become an agent.

Independent travel agents are sometimes looked down upon by non-independent agents. I don't think the reason for this is anything other than resentment. The way I figure it, so many travel agents spent so much money and time on travel agent training that seeing someone who didn't go through that and yet is successful must be hard to deal with.

Independent Travel Agents Are Their Own Bosses
Aside from all of the great perks and the salary, independent travel agents can enjoy knowing that they are their own boss. A company like Global Travel International basically provides a service for travel agents. The company owners don't have the time to push everyone they've got on board to sell so the stress of a job is almost nonexistent.

As a home based travel agent, I don't have to leave my house if I don't want to. Independent travel agents are able to pursue more than one passion as I do, which is gardening. It's great to feel like you don't have to put all of your energy into one job but that you can spread it around to enrich yourself. I can't think of another career and another method to a career that allows this.
