Information About Inns of Texas
Most Inns of Texas are owned by Innkeepers, who often live on the premises. Because of this, they bring a different perspective to the job than the person who just works a shift at a hotel reception desk. There are many Inns of Texas that offer weekend specials like murder mystery weekends, valentines day treats and more. Some are in remote locations where nature surrounds them and where deer will eat biscuits right out of your hand, while others provide historic ambience and you can find antiques throughout.
I guess I should have already clarified this, but "Inns" as we are defining are more of the small hotel, B&B types, rather than the big hotel chains like Ramada Inn or Quality Inn. For most, when we think of an Inn, we don't think of the two former mentions as being part of the classification. In addition, we feel that they do not provide the personalized homey service that you get, when you stay in a Country Inn or Bed and Breakfast and therefore don't really belong in this classification.
More Texas Inn Information
Whether you choose to stay at a rustic, bucolic setting or elegant Victorian Mansion, the Inns of Texas are all unique and breathtaking in their own right. It is worth comparing however, the difference between hotels of Texas and Inns of Texas and what is typically included in the rate of an overnight stay. Every Inn is different, but most of the extra charges you'd encounter at a hotel are included in their stay cost. For instance, a hotel charges 50 to 75 cents for a local or toll-free call, while most Inns will provide the service for free. Some even have telephones with data ports in the rooms.
Additionally, at a hotel, you have to pay for your breakfast or go out to eat. Most Bed and Breakfast Inns provide a full free home-cooked breakfast that will leave your taste buds dancing. Of course unlike hotels, most Inns won't offer room service; however some do provide special items and meals to be placed in the room for special occasions. Innkeepers are generally willing and able to provide concierge type services (i.e. restaurant and theater reservations, recommendations for shopping, antiquing, hiking, etc.). The one thing that is great about this, is that the Innkeepers are more than happy to help and tipping is not necessary and usually is not accepted
