If it is that time of year again when everyone starts thinking about what they are going to do with their week off in the spring, I would put some consideration into a South Padre Island vacation. South Padre Island is a huge spring break spot, attracting thousands of college kids each spring. It is located in the in the Gulf of Mexico on the tip of the Texas border.

Not only will you have the beach and ocean right outside your hotel room, but you will be accompanied by a whole bunch of college kids going wild for the ritual spring break activities. You better plan on wild beach parties, wet t-shirt contests, and the always fun foam fest. If you wanted, you could probably get away without packing anything except for a swim suit and some sandals.

Hotels to stay at on a South Padre Island Vacation
I would not worry too much about where I stayed during my South Padre Island vacation. All the hotels are either right on the beach or only a short walk away. Sometimes the ones of the beach end up being the most fun because all the poor little college kids stay there.

I once shelled out the extra cash to stay in a five star hotel, only to find that is was mostly families, and all the fun things were going on at the cheapie down the street. The one thing to look for in any hotel is a swim up bar at the pool. Wherever they have one of those, there is sure to be people having a great time.
