There are numerous locations closer to home that are less expensive.

Alternative High School Spring Breaks
Local national parks are wonderful ways to get away. Spend a week in Yosemite appreciating the sublime beauty of the Yosemite Valley and the high country. Yosemite Falls is one of the most awe-inspiring sites, and if you take the time to hike to the very top, you can enjoy one of the most spectacular views in the park. Glacier Point also provides a spectacular view looking across the valley, and during the winter it provides one of the most challenging and beautiful cross-country skiing adventures.

If you are closer to the Grand Tetons, you can enjoy the majesty of Grand Tetons mountain range as well as Jackson Lake. The Grand Tetons National Park offers camping, cabins, suites and all of the luxuries of more exotic locations. When you enter the Grand Tetons Lodge, you will be privy to amazing sights. The view has a shallow swamp foregrounding Jackson Lake with the Grand Tetons in the background. The view appears as if it were a landscape painting from the imagination of John Muir, and it can make high school spring breaks that much more memorable.

Many high schoolers planning a spring break look to Mexico, however. It is always best to get a large group together, since better rates will often be available. It can also pay to book through a travel agency to ensure that accommodations are on the level. Package deals can be negotiated through travel agencies or online booking agencies.
