Cancun has definitely become synonymous with "spring break" across the nation. It is one of the most sought after spring break locations, and that is reflected in just how many times MTV has held their annual spring break special from Cancun. However, spring breakers didn't need MTV to know that Cancun had built a successful tourism economy around catering to students looking for fun. All it takes to realize this is one look down the crowded white sand beaches and the rocking nightclubs along the streets.
The Popularity of Cancun Spring Breaks
Those who have done their research on spring breaks know that the best locations, perhaps the most popular as well, are Jamaica, Mexico, the Caribbean, and a little lake in Arizona. For those looking for beautiful scenery as well as a fun crowd, Cancun might be the best option. The area attracts many students during the month of March.
If you see a sign on the side of the road asking to help support a student group sometime in February, chances are that the group is trying to raise money for their spring break trip. Resourceful students can find many ways to fundraise; such odd ventures as selling hot dogs outside of parties are not unheard of. However, parents shouldn't be surprised to get a visit from their son or daughter in January or February for the annual spring break fund request.
Cancun spring breaks will no doubt be memorable, especially with all of the activities during both the day and night. If you are lucky enough to attend one of these weeklong parties, don't forget your camera, because there will be no shortage of things that you will want to remember for years to come. Hopefully, there will be some things that you would rather forget as well, but this is all part of the experience of traveling to Cancun in spring.
